HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The most common causes of chronic or persistent cough are: (1) post nasal drip due to allergic sinusitis
(2)GERD- gastroesophageal reflux disease
(3)asthma

Post nasal drip is the most common cause and some persons do not recognise that the drip is present.
You can consider the use of a topical steroid nasal spray and anti histamine which help if post nasal drip is the cause. If you use these persistently for a few weeks with no improvement then your doctor may suggest GERD medication.

I hope this helps
