How To Treat Persistent Cough?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I need help. In September, I got a cold. Since then I have had a persistent cough. For a while, it was unproductive, then I started coughing up green phlegm. Now I cough up white and sometimes yellow crap. I have done a round of oral steroids and taken a week's worth of antibiotic (augmentin I believe). I already have asthma so I take albuterol and Quvar inhalers. I feel like nothing works and I'm so frustrated and scared. I have no health insurance nor do I qualify for any of the uninsured clinics around town. The meds that I have were obtained through prescriptions written when I had in insurance. Going to the doctor is not an option. Does anyone have any tips that I could use to make it even a little better?

I have not had a fever, runny nose, or any other symptoms with the cough
