Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have persistent palpitations (nothing new, have had for years, but these seem more persistent), especially bad at night, with frequent skipped beat causing feeling like a bad electric shock. Doesn't seem to happen when exercising, but has made me nervous about going to the gym.
you need to take a ECG to look for the rhythm.you might need to go for a 24hrs holter monitoring.there are some arrhythmias like supraventricular tachycardia or atrial fibrillation, and we have got treatment for that.we can do ablation as well as putting you on medication.but first thing is to diagnose the condition.so you should go for a evaluation(for ECG/holter-in case ECG is insufficient)
