How To Treat Pigmentation In Scrotum Area Despite Using Anitfungal Creams?

Hi Doc, I am a 36 M from Bangalore and am having a dark skin coloration patch around and under my scrotum area and this has been there for a good long 15 yrs. Due to my neglect, it has become kinda worse for me... there is NO ITCHING or Burning sensation , but everyday when i look down the scrotum area, i feel that despite applying some antifungal creams (am using SURFAZ-SN which has clotrimazole in it) there seems to be no cure... i have been applying them twice a day for past 2 weeks.. and some days i feel that its fading out... but then after few days... it comes back to the normal state.. am not sure what to do ... i am dead scared to show it to someone... i can be honest with u and tell u that i dont think that i caught it with a sexual act with some one.... and my wife doesn t have anything like this... but i guess this was due to probably a neglect during my childhood days... I need to GET RID OF this asap ... as its affecting my sex life..... please helpppp !!

Hello there.
I empathise with you & dare say it is a problem many men share.
There is no need to feel shy or conscious about it & there is a perfectly logical conclusion & treatment for it.
First, one has to make sure there is no underlying fungal or mixed infection.
Second, albeit you say your wife does not have a similar patch, she may be exhibiting signs of a genital fungal infection that you can easily acquire during sex or otherwise.
Third, the creams for pigment lightening are many & will depend on your skin type, tolerance & budget et al.
Sexual acts in the past may also predispose to similar pigmentation as also friction & bad hygiene, repeated fungal infections etc.
It will be sensible to go visit a dermatologist in your area. If anywhere near Vikram Hospital off Cunningham Road, Sita Bhateja Speciailty Hospital in Shanthinagar area or MM road region, Fraser town, you are most welcome to come consult me & can take it from there. Else any dermatologist close to you is par for the course & suggest you google or check on this HCM website that can serve as a ready reckoner.
Good Luck & wish you a clear skin soon.
