How To Treat Pimple Near Tailbone?

Hello, I have a bump kind of like a pimple under the skin at the bottom of my tailbone. Do you think it may go away on its own or should I see a doctor? What if he has to lance it, what can I expect in the way of pain? It is the size of a very large pimple maybe a nickel.

Hi,

As per your query you have pimple near tailbone which occurs when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected. I would suggest you wash the area mild soap and cold water twice a day. You should apply clindamycin gel. Avoid excessive movement and change chair where you sit most of the day. If the condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult a dermatologist. The doctor may prescribe antibiotics course along with minor surgical procedure under anesthesia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
