Hello, My daughter had a placenta hemorrhage that was 8cm and healed to 5cm and seems to be continuing to heal. However, she went in for a sonogram and was told that there is still some bleeding and that there is some blood in the amniotic fluid. He told her an amnio should be performed to determine further. He said blood being present in the amniotic fluid can cause many severe health risks to the baby health issues including but not limited to cystic fibrosis. Trying to find answers, I ve been reading up on women who have been told by their Dr s of blood being present in the amniotic fluid but none of which seemed to have had Dr s that spoke about it being a serious concern. May I please get some information about the risks involved with the baby and my daughter when there is blood present in the amniotic fluid ? Thank You
