How To Treat Prolonged Periods?

im am 17 years ld and i started taking birth control for my period issues, i had to stop the deprovera because it caused excessive weight gain, now my period has been a month and a half long and is still a steady flow. i want to find a solution to fix the problem not cover it up, and the birth control didnt help.
