hi. my baby had an itchy red spots on his right arm. not sure what cause them. he doesn t have allergies and I think this is because of the change of weather. we came from philippines (very hot weather) and now we are here in California with cold weather. these spots appeared when the weather is cold and its very itchy. I hate to see my son scratching it. what is the best medicine for these spots to disappear? thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Changes in temperature can affect a baby's skin. Cold weather can cause dryness of skin, itching and also peeling of skin. Moisturizer should be regularly used to reduce the symptoms. In case of severe dryness, mild steroid creams may be required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
