General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The symptoms you are describing is suggestive that you have caught up with yeast infection of vagina (vaginal candidiasis). In addition, it appears that you also have local reaction to the infection.
You can use topical antifungal pessaries or vaginal tablets containing clotrimazole. You can follow one to three days regimen depending on the response.
In case the infection is severe and not responding satisfactorily to vaginal route, you can add antifungal medication containing fluconazole to be taken by oral route.
Keep the area under good hygiene by washing with 'V wash' solution and wear loose undergarments to provide good ventilation.
You need to avoid sexual activity during this period till the infection subsides completely.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
