How To Treat Red Bump And Tenderness On Nose?

Developing a bulbous tender nose and had a red bump that I squeezed and puss came out,I ve been using warm compresses and triple antibiotic ointment. Really don t have the money to see a dr. What else can I do? Will it go away on its own? How serious is it?

How serious is that, it all depends on the severity of this infection. This is a dangerous area of the face where you have got this infective lesion. Nose and upper lip area makes a triangular part of the face known as the 'dangerous area of the face'. Infections here if not treated timely may spread to the brain via the venous drainage from the dangerous area of the face.


This is mostly due to the staphylococcus infection. You need to take Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation of the area. If I was your treating Physician I would have prescribed you with Augmentin oral if not allergic to plus a follow up after a week to see how you doing.
