Hi my son is 6 month old he is suffering from motion for last four days but it is not lose motion because motion is almost normal but in a day 5-6 times and motion contains red cough type material , doctor had given medicine as follows Bonflox N Vibact dry syrup Zincolife Tiscold Pls suggest what to do??
Frequent stools with mucus and blood stain (red cough type appearance) may indicate bacterial dysentery. This can be treated with antibiotics and zinc for few days. Your doctor has already given. Kindly complete the course as per advise. Meanwhile, give him frequent feeding and sips of fluids like ORS solution to avoid dehydration. Take him to doctor if high grade fever/poor feeding/lethargy appears.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
