How To Treat Severe Acne?

Hello Doctor. I'm 19yrs old and weigh abt 57 kgs. For the past 3 months I've been suffering from pimples. Earlier my face was clean and clear. So, I started using home remedies which made my pimples even worse. Now I use just a soap and pimples have gone but have left very dark scars on my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Also, slowly pimples have started to pop-up. My face has lost its shine and has becum rough. I've become dark compared to my hands(earlier such type of a problem was not to be seen). Please help me doctor. I don't use any make-up. Could you please advice me how to get back my original, flawless, smooth, radiant and fair skin within a few days without any side-effects because whatever I use on my face brings -ve effects. Please help me doctor. I'd be highly grateful. Thank You.

Hi,

You said you suffer from acne vulgaris since last three months. You tried home remedies without help. And your complexion became dark. I can understand your concern for facial skin problem.

Acne vulgaris is a multifactorial skin disease. Stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, travelling, sun exposure, oily food,dandruff...etc might exacerbate the disease. Even genetic influence may be there. You consult dermatologist to have proper treatment.

I would like to suggest as follow..

- avoid precipitating factors
- antibiotic like minocycline or azithromycine in proper dose
- zinc preparation like zinc sulfate
- tretinoin in low dose
- application of clindamycine or adapalene on acne lesions at night
- cleansing the face with antiseptic face wash
- after clearance of acne, kojic acid containing gel application may be done to have spot free skin
- face wash may be changed...glycolic acid and kojic acid containg face wash may be used to have glowing skin
- have positive approach and patience to get fair, radiant and glowing skin.

I hope you got my answer.
