You have history of spinal compression fracture. Presently, you are suffering from upper
back pain on the right side. You are suggested to wear a
back brace for external support to limit the motion of fractured vertebrae. Reduction in activity may help. The back brace limits spine-related motion significantly and it may help reduce pain. You can take pain medication (naproxen) for relieve. Medications to stabilize
bone density also help. Include food (nuts, tofu, cheese, milk, dairy food, broccoli, cabbage, etc.) good for the bones in your regular diet.
Take
analgesic pain medicines, muscle relaxants for a short period of time as they can be addictive, bed rest, back bracing, and physical activity are helpful. Antidepressants can also help relieve nerve-related pain. Take food good for the nerves or you can also take supplements like Nerve-Up OD. Prolonged bed rest is not recommended as it may cause
osteoporosis or bone loss.
You can take a short period of bed rest. Get clinically examined get treated for osteoporosis to help prevent further compression fractures. However, if there is no relieve you may need surgery. Surgical procedures used to treat spinal fractures include
spinal fusion surgery,
vertebroplasty, or any other surgery that may suit you better.
