How To Treat Severe Chapped Lips?

I am trying to figure out if my stinging chapped lips are a reaction to something, or are they just chapped because of the weather....? There is no cracks or flaking at the corners of my lips, just the general texture of my lips are grainy and stinging, they don't really look that different but they are stinging and hurting and the skin feels a bit thickened. I was using Burts Bees for the last year, but have stopped, and am now using Carmex. This happened last winter and is happening again now. Not had this problem so bad. Changed toothpaste, no difference. I don't use mouthwash at all.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain it seems that you have a problem of chapped lips and it seems to be due to change in weather.
I would suggest you to apply a thick coat of Petroleum jelly or bees wax containing lip balm over the lips as it will lock moisture over your lips, and also lubricate.
Avoid exposure to cold and dry air and you can use a scarf to cover your lips..
Do not suck or lick your lips as it further causes evaporation of moisture..
Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration causing dryness..
Do warm compresses over lips..
