How To Treat Severe Mucus Formation Along With Shallow, fast Breathing With Burping?

I have been having a lot of mujcous, clear or white, for the past week and on and off for a while. I get this shallow, fast breathing with burping helping to get a deeper breath. I do use a diskus inhaler in the morning (2 puffs). I am wondering if I should contact my pulmonologist or hwait for it to go away.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
You should definitely consult pulmonologist because you are having acute attack of bronchitis.
You need to get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test)
3. Chest x ray.
PFT is needed to know the severity of the disease.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You may need additional inhaled bronchodilators.
Mucolytic, expectorant and antibiotics.
So better to consult pulmonologist, discuss all these and start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
