How To Treat Severe Pain In Leg During Winter?

recently durin winter i have noticed...i get sudden bursts of pain in my leg..at night i wake up due to the pain..and i try to release it by moving my leg..but it gets worser...so i just hold it steady and the pain goes away...what is wrong with my leg?
