How To Treat Severe Pain In Lower Spine Due To Early Signs Of Osteoporosis?

I have a history of beginning osteoporosis and lower spine issues and have had trouble with sitting for several years but one week ago my symptoms suddenly changed. I was unable to do my usual yoga. I had pain when I sat on the floor, couldn t do my usual stretches without excessive stiffness and pain in my lower extremity. I can no longer tie my shoes without extreme discomfort. I go to a chiropractor but was so tense and stiff, manipulation was limited. I weigh about 120 now which is at least 10 pounds more than norm. Height is about 5 2 . i am a healthy person, walk and exercise on a regular basis, eat fairly healthy and take a lot of supplements.

Hello,

You are suffering from severe pain in lower spine that is interfering with your daily activities. Bones are fragile in osteoporosis so be very careful while you twist, turn, bend or move. Fractures can happen even from simple movements like lifting a bag of groceries, twisting to get out of a car, or tripping slightly on a rug, etc. You should take food rich in calcium and magnesium and also its supplements.

Get connected to a physical therapist, for relaxing therapy, mind body therapy, exercises, massage therapy, and talk therapy. Hot and cold compression, braces and support are helpful. Get clinically examined by an orthopedist, get required blood and imaging tests done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. In the meantime, take NSAIDs, Naproxen, one stat when required after food for relief from pain. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
