Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a sharp stabbing pain in my left heel for some months now. At first, I thought it was plantar fasciitis but I m not so sure. The pain comes at odd times, and even when I m sitting down or lying down. It s like a sharp shooting pain at the bottom of the heel and sometimes on the side. It s especially bad if I ve been just doing normal walking all day long. I did a lot of intentional walking, for health reasons, in the late summer into the fall, and I m pretty sure the shoes I was wearing caused this. My PCP thought it was plantar fasciitis, but I m wondering if I need to see a podiatrist.
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having either planter fascitis or calcaneum spur giving this problem. Go for x-ray of heal to find out the problem. Local injection of steroid will give you relief. Put cushion in your shoes at heal side. Ok and take care.
