How To Treat Sinus Congestion Despite Of Chiropractic Treatment?

My husband is 64 and has been getting a headache during the day for the last month. It starts when he bends over or lifting. He then take Tylenol or ibuprofen and then it goes away. The pain comes to the right side of his head immediately when picking something up. He has a head scan over a week ago and it looked great. It showed slight sinus congestion and said it there was nothing there. He has seen a chiropractor 3 times and no relief with that. We are waiting for his appointment at the VA hospital but cant get in until the 20th of this month.

Hi,

Sinus congestion can cause a headache and pressure in the head, and it can be difficult to manage if it is persistent. In addition to chiropractic care, there are a few other things your husband can try to relieve his sinus congestion:
* Nasal irrigation: This involves using a saline solution to rinse out the nasal passages. This can help to clear out mucus and relieve sinus pressure. Your husband can try using a Neti pot or a saline nasal spray.
* Steam inhalation: Inhaling steam can help to open up the nasal passages and reduce congestion. Your husband can try inhaling steam from a bowl of hot water or using a humidifier in his home.
* Decongestant medication: Over-the-counter decongestants can help to reduce sinus congestion. However, these medications should not be used for more than a few days at a time, as they can cause rebound congestion.
* Nasal corticosteroids: These are prescription medications that can help to reduce inflammation in the nasal passages and relieve congestion. Your husband can talk to his doctor about whether this type of medication is appropriate for him.

It's also important to identify and avoid any triggers that may be causing or worsening sinus congestion, such as allergies or environmental irritants. Your husband should continue to follow up with his healthcare provider and let them know if his symptoms worsen or if he develops any new symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
