How To Treat Skin Discolouration In Lower Neck And Throat After Reaction To Poison Oak?
53 year old female 18 months ago had severe reaction to poison oak. September of 2014 pnuemonia. Had a virus that ravaged my body 2 years back. No prior history of headaches except a migraine in 1983 so severe was sent to hospital to receive narcotics shot slept 1 1/2 days. 1 year or so back noticed 2 quarter size vibrant discolorations located on lower neck one on each side of throat ..these discolorations vary in vibrancy from time to time. Most disturbing is the bleeding sensations in the head from time to time over the last maybe 9 months and also most recently the last several months the pressure inside the head almost constant but varies in degree. Times of being cold and no reason for it. Confusion , vision problems, lost for words, memory and concentration problems that come and go. Along with absolutely out of energy at times. No alcohol, drugs, tobacco or medicines involved in any form.
The symptoms mentioned by you - confusion, vision problems. lost for words, memory and concentration problems may be due to some trauma to head. I suggest you to get CT head to assess the status of brain tissue. In addition, the discoloration may be due to reaction against poison ivy. I suggest you to consult a neurologist for CT scan and dermatologist for discoloration on neck region.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
