How To Treat Soreness In Arm Caused Due To Wrong Sleeping Position?

A few weeks ago, I woke up in the morning and realized that I slept with my arm in an awkward position. My arm was sore then and is still sore now. I believe it is a sore tendon near my elbow area. I have taken Advil some but that does not help much. What do you advise?

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to compression of nerve or repetitive muscle strain. It will get recovered gradually. You can do massage , warm compress and apply NSAID gels like ketoprofen or Diclofena (Volini). If you have more discomfort consultation with an orthopedician is well appreciated. Short course of muscle relaxants like Tizanidine and NSAIDs like Aceclofenac will be helpful to stop the pain spasm pain vicious circle. Use some soft pillows for support of arm and sides while sleeping.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks
