How To Treat Spots On Leg?

My wife has about 6 red sopts on her right leg ranging from dime size to tennis ball size, from pictures I have seen this appears to be similar to lymes disease even though no tick has been seen. can this be treated with antibiotics or what method. She is using calamine lotion at this moment with little results.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, seems infective lesion with contagious spread rather than simple rash. Though calamine lotion can provide symptomatic relief on time being basis, it is best recommended to add following:
- Cleansing of local part with antiseptic liquid or soap
- Local application of hydrocortisone cream
- Prescription of antibiotics such as Cephalexin or Doxycycline
- Control of blood sugar

Regular follow up with your primary care provider is the best recommended at this time for best results.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
