How To Treat Stiff Neck And Soreness In Shoulder Blade While Suffering From Osteoporosis?
I am a 72-year old Caucasian woman with osteoporosis, hyperlipdema, hypothyroidism, and depression .My symptoms are: stiff neck, soreness of neck and shoulder blades, anxiety, fatigue, and shakiness of hand when writing. The stiff neck and soreness of shoulder blades has lasted about three weeks and isn t helped by massage or topical pain cream.
As per my clinical experience, the stiff neck, sore shoulder blade with underlying osteoporosis indicate arthritis related nerve compression and its secondary sequences. My guidelines at present: - Get prescription of analgesic and anti inflammatory medicines like diclofenac, aceclofenac or ketorolac - Supplemental calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper and other trace elements - Check for hemoglobin level and correct if low - Regular check up of serum cholesterol and thyroid hormone profile, correct if any abnormality detected
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
