How To Treat Strep Throat?

I have recently been diagnosed with strep throat and I am on antibiotics and getting better. However I just had my first BM in several days and there was a deep green mucus in my stool unlike anything i have ever seen before. Should I be worried? Could the infection in my throat spread to other parts of my body?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have strep throat after which seems to be due to infection in throat leading to Strep throat. It could be due to bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract as well. Need not to worry. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflammatory .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
