How To Treat Swelling And Dark Bruise On The Foot Caused Due To A Bee Sting?

Hello, my girlfriend that got stung by a bee and had a large local reaction from the sting. The sting was on the toe and her foot got swollen. The swelling has now starting to retreat but the skin has started to darken but not quite looking as a bruse. Is the darkening a normal reaction or should it be cause of concern ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain, swelling and darkening of skin are standard body reaction after the bee sting so it is not unusual. If pain is not there then she will hardly need any medicine and swelling will also subside gradually. So there is nothing to worry about.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
