How To Treat Swelling In The Eyes And A Lump On The Cheek?

Good evening. I had an accident about 2 months ago and hit my eye on the head rest cos i was seated at the back. The aftermath of the accident was swollen eye and black eye. But as at today I can still feel a small hard lump on my cheek and it makes my cheek look a bit swollen than the other. What can I do to completely remove the lump? Thank you

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

A lump on the cheek after injury seems to be most probably due to Hematoma formation..

Hematoma is a localised collection of blood into the soft tissues from broken blood vessels due to injury..

At times the hematoma gets localized and encapsulated and forms a firm hard lump that can take a long time, say a few months to resolve, but it generally tend to resolve itself..

So you should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..

If it is a Hematoma, you can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump and apply Heparin gel over it..

Hopefully it will get resolved in a few weeks..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
