Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

The bump you mention in query can occur because of two reasons

Firstly it can be due ti gun infection ( gingivitis) .

Secondly it can be due to dental abscess .

I would suggest you to consult dentist for proper evaluation . Doctor may order X-RAY to find out exact cause .

If it is a gum infection doctor will perform oral prophylaxis and prescribe antibiotics (metronidazole) .

If it will be due to abscess the either dentist will drain the abscess along with antibiotics or simple prescribe antibiotics and anti inflammatory .

After few days doctor may perform root canal .

Till then do not wear retainer .

Do baking soda rinses .

Maintain oral hygiene.

Take advil or tylenol for pain and swelling .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
