How To Treat Swollen Glands With A Temperature Of 37.9ºC?

My daughter is 18 years old, she has a temperature of 37.9 ,she feels dizzy, and her glads are swollen. I have given her paracetamol as she is allergic to aspirin and ibroprfen, I have take some layer off her and opened a window slightly Please advise if I need to act further, kind regards Caz

Hello,

If the glands are on the neck and not more than 2 cm big than there is nothing to worry, very likely she is having a viral infection and all she needs is she takes some Paracetamol and Ibuprofen to help with fever and pains, rest well, drink plenty and eat a frequent small amount of food.

If no improvement in 3-4 days or any worsening she needs a visit with a doctor.

If the glands on the neck are more than 2 cm big or there are glands spread all over (not just in the neck) in the neck, groins, armpits, etc, she will need a visit with the doctor soon.
