IM 30 yrs old,177cms,80kg, married for 2 years addicted to codeine syrup from past 2 years. average daily consumption is 400ml of codeine phosphate.having low libido.also undergoing treatment for jaundice,which is under normal range now. in past i had slipped from 2 wheeler resulting in testical pain,which i think eventually subsided due to codeine intake,as i m giving up addiction,(please read reduced intake) the testicle pain(in one of testicle) has gone from bad to worst. please advice me as i want to live a normal life as i used to be. my withdrawl giving me restless legs and abdomen cramps.

Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist, i advise you not to worry so much. You need to carry out the following steps : After an examination by an Urologist, 1. Get an ultrasound doppler scan of scrotum. 2. Reduce dose of codeine syrup gradually further. 3. check your blood routine,sugar,creatinine,LFT,FSH,LH,and testosterone. 4. Use a scrotal support,or tight underwear,to keep the scrotum elevated. Show reports to the Urologist, and your pain should disappear gradually.
