How To Treat The Double Vision, Swelling In Eyes, Eyeball Protruding And Thick Gel Oozing Out?
Hi, I typed in my mothers info because my question is for her. My Mother was reading one day & her vision just immediately changed. She started seeing two & three of everything in one eye. She went to Doctor & he said she needed a prism on her glasses to correct this. About a month later she started getting really bad headaches, everyday. Her eye started swelling, eyeball protruding, red and oozing a thick gel type liquid. The specialist said her condition is very rare & told her to hold pressure on her carotid artery every hour for 10 seconds. Do you have any answers as to what exactly this is & how to treat or correct it?
Hello It seems from the history that your mother is having protrusion of the eyes with double vision. This condition is called Proptosis. Proptosis requires evaluation by eye examination and CT scan. Since your doctor has told that problem may be in carotid artery, this can be a vascular problem like aneurysm. Hence this requires evaluation and I don't think applying pressure on the carotid artery is treatment. So do consult one more eye doctor and take a second opinion regarding the management.
Thank you
