My daughter-in-law just a had a sugar blood test and during the test it appears that the baby's heart would skip beats? She is going back at the end of the week and they are going to check the heartbeat without taking any sugar. Is this something that we should be concerned about?
Many cases of skipped beats are benign, especially when associated with normal examination and ECHO and may not require anything to do. But, if she also has symptoms like blurred vision, dizziness, loss of consciousness, shortness of breath, chest pain along with this, she will need urgent work up
Anaemia / Anxiety / Alcohol / Tobacco (smoking) / Caffeine (too much tea, coffee, cola) / Fever / Infection / Pain / Stress / Thyroid / electrolytes / Medicines like Phenylephrine used for ‘cold’ - are some of the common causes…
