General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, it is not necessary that every throat infection with joint pain will turn up as typhoid fever. Guidelines till you meet your doctor:
- Drink plenty of liquids including boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water, butter milk
- Prefer easily digestible food stuffs
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Use spray with diclofenac or linseed oil to be applied over painful joints 3 times a day
- Acetaminophen (500 mg) 4 times a day after meals if no history of sensitivity with preferably antacid or proton pump inhibitor

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
