Only in case of bacterial infection not getting cleared by conservative measures need antibiotics. You shouldn t take antibiotics by your own. Augmentin and zithromax are antibiotics and are broad spectrum ones. You can use chlorhexidine gargle, chewable vitamin C daily and warm chicken soup with pepper.
