Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is five yrs six months old. His weight is twenty two. He often gets ill in an interval of one n half or two months. Doctors tell that its a viral effect.in this case what should we do? And how much ml of ibugesic plus should be given to my son?
Ibugesic-plus is a combination of two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ibuprofen and paracetamol.
It may be given in dose of 6 ml once in every 6hrs. However, the intake of ibuprofen may cause stomach upset, acidity problems and vomiting hence it is not advisable for the symptomatic relief of fever.
I would rather suggest paracetamol in the dose of 15 mg/kg body weight every 4 to 6 hours to reduce the fever. Your son should be thoroughly investigated to rule out chronic infections like tuberculosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
