Hi - I had a blood test following a bout of sinusitis 4 years ago which found that my esr was 100+ and has remained so ever since (even following a course of steroids, the esr remained high). I feel awful, with symptoms of lethargy, fatigue, no energy - almost like symptoms for chronic fatigue syndrome, but I know that a high esr and cfs are not associated as the esr is usually very low with cfs. I was also diagnosed 2 years ago with chronic renal failure, stage 3 following a routine blood test. I have undergone numerous investigations (such as scans, USS, etc) but the medical staff can still not find the cause for the high esr. Other medical problems I have are: hypertension (controlled on medication), hypothyroidism (controlled on medication), recently diagnosed with low vitamin b12 and have just completed a course of injections for this. Any ideas what may be the cause of this high esr or any suggestions? Thanks you.
