Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
18-year-old son, played basketball yesterday. On the ball of his foot, there is a large, circular area that resembles a shallow water blister, but it isn t the depth of a water blister. It is tender to the touch, and it has a small tear on one side. Any advice, please?
Blisters can appear due to excess friction while running or playing in shoes for a long time. Tight or poor fitting shoes can also be the reason. These blisters will reduce on its own in a few days. Infection can be prevented by antibiotic cream application.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
