How To Treat Water Retention In Face While Having Sinusitis?

My daughter has been waiting for ENt appointment for over a year now, She has Sinusitis and fluid accumulation is hurting her on cheek, chin and also stomach . Could there be a doctor who can attend to her soon. If you need the Family doctor to refer it can be done, However please have this done soon. Thx

Thanks for posting on HCM
Waiting for ENT appointment for over a year is unheard of.I will suggest you pick an appointment with another ENT. However, your family Doctor may be able to manage the problem if complicated procedures will not be needed and if need be to see an ENT, he may take upon himself to get the appointment for you.Treatment options may include: nasal irrigation with saline, nasal corticosteroids, oral or injectable corticosteroids, antibiotherapy, immunotherapy and finally surgery.
I will suggest you meet your Family Doctor not necessarily an ENT for evaluation and exploitation of some of these treatment options.I will also advise you try the following home measures while on your Doctor's treatment
-Enough rest
-Enough fluids
-Moisturize your nasal cavity
-Apply warm compress on your face
-Sleep with head elevated
-Avoid nasal irritants like smoke, dust and cold
