How To Treat White Bumps On My Tongue And Cheeks?

I have bitten my cheeks since I was very young, here recently I have been doing it really bad cause of stress ect. My cheeks are so mangled that they are white on the inside, and this morning I woke up really sick and have white bumps down the sides of my tongue that are very painful, could it just be the flu?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain first I would like to discuss about the present complain that is presence of white painful bumps over the sides of tongue which seems to be apthous ulcers that can occur due to throat infection due to inflammation in mouth, also there are a number of other causes like tongue bite, stress, acid reflux, nutritional deficiency [ iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid],hormonal imbalances etc..
You should gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine for relief from pain.
Do soda bicarb gargles.
Gargles with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl can help..
Take a multiviamin tablet daily for 15 days..
Suck ice for reducing inflammation.
The ulcers will resolve in a week or even less and in case of no improvement even after one week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

The other part of your question is the white appearance of cheeks with a history of cheek bite can be due to excessive keratin deposition known as Frictional Keraotosis which is not a harmful condition and gradually resolves once the habit of cheek biting is stopped..
Other cause can be Leukoplakia in which also there are formation of hyperkeratotic patches secondary to continuous irritation and as it is a precancerous lesion consulting an Oral Physician and getting evaluated and he/she can advise you to get a Biopsy done to confirm the cause..
For Leukoplakia taking retinoids [ vitamin A precursor], multivitamin, antioxidants like Lycopene can help..
Removal of irritant is must therefore to prevent cheek bite the physician can advise you to wear mouth guard..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
