How To Wean Off An Infant From Breastfeeding?

My 5 month exclusively breastfed baby absolutely refuses formula feed ( lactogen 1) or as well as feeding bottles. Can you plz guide me, as I have to join back work in a month. I am already on a month s extension leave. I will be away from him between morning 7 to afternoon 3 for my work My regular pediatrician suggested expressed breast milk for one feed and one formula feed. However my baby just refuses any alternative to breastfeeding, but accepted moderately drained rice moong dal khichdi water and carrot tomato soup ( tried only a few times). Plz help

Hello,

I think that expressed breast milk is the best alternative. You can start introduce him some fruit juices now as well as cereals. You can prepare cereals with formula. Introduce them gradually and gently in order that baby gets used to. He may need to take it's time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
