How To Withdraw From Bisoprolol?

hi, I have been taking bisoprolol 1.25mg for over a year now since my second Ablation for AF. I would like to come off it as the side effects are dreadful. I can hardly run now, my legs feel week and heavy, I am so slow it s embarrising plus I have balance issues. Hoping to discuss this with my cardiologist soon. My AF has returned, so I am guessing my only hope is another ablation and a different bete-blocker. Thanks Heather

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If your atrial fibrillation (AF) is not controlled with bisoprolol then you should definitely consult cardiologist as early as possible. You should definitely get done RFA (Radio Frequency Ablation). Betablockers are not good drug for AF control. In my opinion, you should start diltiazem (calcium channel blocker). It is age old time tasted drug for AF control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
