How To Withdraw From Flunil And Olimelt?

My son has been suffering from depression for last 2-3 years. He is now on a small dose combination of Flunil and olimelt . His studies have benn affected ... His social interactions is also limited . But only concern is how to stop this medicine completely.as I feel somewhere and somehow it is stopping him from living a normal life. I have started giving him homeopathic medicine also. His present dose is flunil10 / olimelt 5 Please advise how and when I can stop this medicine

In my opinion, you should first consult psychiatrist before doing any dose adjustment. These are basic drugs for depression. And they are highly effective in controlling depression. These are least toxic drugs for long term use. There is high possibility that he might go inside depression again if you stop these drugs. So better to consult psychiatrist first and discuss if stopping of drug is possible in his case or not. If psychiatrist allows to wean then first stop Olimelt.
