Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter aged 46, is a mess. She has a chemical imbalance. She is on drugs and can t get off them. Her ex husband has been giving her morphine and it makes her feel better. Then she goes through withdrawal and is feeling very badly and so he gives her another morphine pill . Two days ago she slit her wrists and the police came and called an ambulance and took her to the hospital. The next morning the hospital released her. She needs help. She can t work, has no money and no insurance. I am her 75 year old mother who lives 50 miles away from her. I am so afraid that she will die unless she gets help. What can I do.
She is "opium addict". Experiencing very sever withdrawal effect of morphine including sever body pain, restlessness, insomnia, diarrhea etc. Withdrawal effects of morphine is very severe and hard to tolerate. Usually this addiction start to get "pleasure" in initial period of addiction and continued to get relief from it's withdrawal effects.
She should contact "De-addiction Center" in your locality as "Opium addiction" needs detoxification (Get rid of withdrawal symptoms) and rehabilitation (learning new opium free lifestyle) for better recovery. There are many govt sponsored or NGO managed De-addiction centers for financially poor patients.
