How To Withdraw From Prednisolone?

Trying to get off Prednisolone for asthma and chronic bronchitis. I m on flovent inhaler and all is well, was on 20mg pred daily, then 10 mg once a day for two weeks then 5 mg x 7 days stop....8 days later my back and joints began to hurt and swelling in all my joints and profuse sweating and tachicardia. I thought I was going to die so I went back on pred 20mg, how do I taper correctly to avoid this or an adrenal crisis????

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you have tapered it down rapidly which caused you adrenal crisis.
So now better to taper down like this.
1. Tablet prednisone 20mg for 10 days.
2. Tablet prednisone 10mg for 10 days
3. Tablet prednisone 5 mg for 10 days
4. Tablet prednisone 5mg alternate day for 10 days.
If you taper down in above mentioned fashion then you won't get adrenal crisis on stopping prednisone.
