How To Withdraw From Tramadol?

hello, I have just found out that my 40 year old brother has been taking 50mg tramadol twice a day for the last 12 years, he desperately wants to be off this pill he stopped taking these pills 5 days ago he is really going through a difficult time. I really want to help him get through this I am trying to educate my self on this matter. He has agreed to see a Dr. as soon as Tuesday. Is there any thing I can do in the mean time to help him?

Hello,

You can not stop the drug rapidly.

He has to gradually taper the dose.

You can seek help from a physician also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
