Hello, I am trying to quit smoking using Wellburin 150MG. I was instructed to take 2 in the morning, and 2 a night (Double dosage for the first week). It seems to be working, and as of tonight, I,m dropping the dose to 1 pill AM and 1 pill PM. Sounds okay to you? But now that I ve cut down on the number of smokes per day, (Today, 01/09, I haven t even had one. Now I suffer from a Sevier Dry Cough. What do you think???
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can taper down the dose of Welbutrin drug gradually before stopping it completely. Take 2 tablets daily for 2 weeks, followed by 1 tablet daily for a week before completely stopping.
A dry cough is commonly associated with smoking cessation which will subside eventually. There is nothing to be worried. You can take any over the counter cough suppressant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
