How Unsafe It Could Be Feeling Pressure On Ribs?

from when I was a little girl up to a few years ago, I would sometimes feel like I was being crushed around my ribs. It hurt to breathe for about a minute in or out. I would have to not breathe, stay still, and wait it out. What could that have been?
