How Will Low HB Count Affect Fetus?

my wife was pregnant at 8 months,now she is suffering from low haemoglobing count 7.3,nowshe taking iron supplement from hospital due that will it affect the baby,can you tellme low count causesat this stage,how can improve the haemoglobin count before delivery

Thanks for the query.
Pregnant women should supply nutrients for her needs and for the needs of the baby.
Hemoglobin carries the needed nutrients.
Deficiency of hemoglobin can lead to decreased nutritional supply to the fetus.
That can lead to intrauterine growth retardation of the baby, low birth weight etc complications.
It can affect the general health of the mother also.
It can impair wound healing after delivery, can delay the involution of uterus etc.
By taking iron supplements, hemoglobin levels can be increased.
If needed go for injectable iron supplements.
Along with these taking iron rich foods like green leafy vegetables, fruits, dates, eggs, meat, fish etc are important.
