I am 15 years old and suffer from mild acne. I have been on the Estelle contraceptive pill for about 3 months now and haven't seen any significant changes with my skin clearing up. My parents both had acne when they were my age too. Do you think it will get better the longer I'm on it? Thanks
You seem to have acne vulgaris in mild form. There may be white or black comedones and inflammatory lesions. Remember contraceptive pills containing progesteron might induce or exacerbate the acne lesions. So, avoit it to take. Genetic tendency may be there for the eruption of acne. Other factors like anxiety, tension, stress, hormonal imbalance, dandruff, oily fod..etc may be responsible You may take minocycline 50 mg in the morning along with isotretinoin 10 mg cap at night. Clindamycine with adapalene gel may be applied on the lesions at night. Cleanse the face with cetaphil lotion. Avoid anxiety and stress. Avoid oily food. If you have dandruff, do shampoo of ketoconazole. You may become alright after few months of treatment. Continue treatment for more than 6 months even after clearance of acne lesions. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
