Hypertension, Stressed. On Telmisartan. What Is The Solution?

Hi Doctor I have a question regarding hypertension, I was diagnosed it a year back, my BP was 170/115, I m taking telmisartan 40mg daily, it is controlled from very first day except for few spikes upto 150/90, But i am worried daily that it may not rise back up, I question is does bp rise up just like that? If I continue taking my medicine daily on time should I be worried? How often should I get my BP checked? Does stress and office work lessens the effect of medicine and makes the BP goes up? Please help!!

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
You are taking telmisartan 40 mg /day for high blood pressure from last one year.
The drug is most potent and effective.
Here I would like to advise you please get in following test for good future .
In my opinion , you need to investigated with E K G ( e cg ) & ECHOCARDIOGRAM to isolate the case of heart involvement .I would recommend you visit a cardiologist at the earliest & sort this problem.
As your B P mentioned 170/115 & 150/90 mm of Hg is high . The diastolic (lower one ) is very high so consultation is very important .
Daily intake of tablet is important . As you mentioned that there is work tension , so consultation is more important . Good luck, Dr. HET
