Hypertension, Treadmill Test Showed Positive For Reversible Ischemia. What Is The Meaning?

i am an hypertensive patient..what is the meaning of tread mil test positive for reversible ischemia .acieved a work load of 4.1METS.Reason for termination of test was fatigue and dysnoea.Maximum ST-T changes occured at peak exercise in the form of 1.1 to 1.5 mm slw upsloping/horizontal ST depression in leads 11,111 and aVF.These changes were acoompanied by chest discomfort persisted till 4 min. after stopping exercise.No arrythmias were noted.

Reversible ischaemia means during exercise some parts of the heart muscle are not getting the blood supply it needs. This is shown by changes in the EKG (ST segment depression). This is usually due to a narrowing in a coronary artery. You experienced some angina with this. You got tired and breathless at a fairly low workload so there does seem to be a problem. I am sure whoever organised the treamill test will be arranging further tests, probably an angiogram. This sort of problem can usually be fixed but it does sound as though you will need further treatment.
